Born on June 3rd, 1932, Mr. J. S. Rajasingh founded Kingsway Consultants in 1967 after a distinguished career in India and the UK. A graduate of Guindy Engineering College (1950–1954), he served with the PWD, Government of Tamil Nadu, Southern Railways, and worked with Prynne, Abbott and Davis Architects in Chennai and England’s Taylor Woodrow, where he also completed his IStructE qualification.
A Chartered Engineer and Fellow of leading professional institutions in India, the UK, and the US, Mr. Rajasingh was behind landmark projects such as Savera Hotel, VIT Vellore, Vandalur Zoo, Saveetha University, Karunya University, and Fountain Plaza, along with significant works in Bangladesh and Ethiopia. His dedication extended to charitable organisations including Kindernothilfe and the Church of Swedish Mission.
Guided by his mission to carry out work with integrity, honesty, and purpose—delivered economically and to the client’s satisfaction—Mr. Rajasingh built Kingsway Consultants into a name synonymous with trust, excellence, and enduring legacy.
Mr. Benjamin graduated with a Bachelor of Architecture from Anna University (1985). A Fellow of the Indian Institute of Architects, an International Associate of the American Institute of Architects, a Registered Architect with the Council of Architecture, and an Associate of the Indian Institute of Interior Design, he has built a career defined by both excellence and versatility.
He began his practice with S.R. Fernando in 1985 and joined Kingsway Consultants in 1989, where he has headed the Architecture Division ever since. His first project with Kingsway was the residence for Mr. C. K. Jeyanath, which set the tone for a long line of significant works. Among his notable projects are the Centenary Block at WCC Chennai, the Income Tax Building Chennai, Century Plaza, St. Luke’s Church, and the Stem Cell Research Centre at CMC Vellore.
